Press Release - Council paves the way for pedestrians in Karawatha Ward

Karawatha Ward Councillor Kim Marx is providing more pedestrian and cyclist friendly travel options in Karawatha Ward with $50,000 worth of footpath upgrades completed in May.

“We want to be known as an active and healthy city, and delivering infrastructure that makes it easier and safer for people to get around is another way we are working towards this,” Cr Marx said.

“This footpath investment has seen Karawatha Ward residents now enjoying a smoother walk in Borella Road Park in Sunnybank, which also received four pathway lights.”

“This financial year each of Brisbane’s 26 councillors has access to $398,000 from the Ward Parks and Footpath Trust for new footpaths and park improvements.
