Yes thank you, Madam Acting Chair. I rise to speak on Item A the pedestrian countdown timers.
As Councillor SCHRINNER mentioned, most of us in the suburbs do have some of these in our ward. I've got a number of them. There was two in particular; I've got Roosevelt Street, Stretton and Calam and Compton Roads, Sunnybank Hills, and of course we've all crossed the ones here in the city. I have to say, as usual, another great initiative being rolled out by this LORD MAYOR and this administration.
These countdown timers are so successful that of course we're getting more and more requests for them at every single lighted intersection, but as usual we will work our way through all those particular intersections. I know that every single Councillor in this place uses the ones in the city, and I think that they're a prime example of just how well they work and they certainly do make everything a lot safer for our residents when they're crossing roads and stuff like that.
So I want to commend this to the chambers and thank the DEPUTY MAYOR, Councillor SCHRINNER, for another wonderful outcome. Thank you.
